Animated vignettes and motion identity for Horizontal Digital's HyperX platform — turning abstract cloud migration architecture into something audiences could actually see, understand, and get excited about.

The brief
Horizontal Digital had built HyperX — a future-ready solution designed to modernize Sitecore XM Cloud migrations with clean architecture and reusable components. The technology was genuinely impressive. The challenge: it's also genuinely abstract. Cloud migration architecture, component libraries, and framework modernization don't naturally lend themselves to compelling video. Horizontal needed motion design that could travel alongside industry expert presenters and make the platform's value immediately legible to a technical and business audience.

The thinking
Our goal on projects like this is to take the often abstract world of tech infrastructure and turn it into something people can actually see and understand. That requires a specific kind of restraint — the motion can't overwhelm the content or distract from the expert talking on screen. It has to enhance, not compete.
We built on the excellent visual direction Horizontal's team had already established for the HyperX lockup, extending it into a motion vocabulary that felt native to the brand rather than bolted on. Clean transitions. Purposeful timing. Every animated element tied directly to a platform concept — so when the presenter talked about component reusability, the animation showed it.
Working with an existing system
Rather than start from scratch, we extended Horizontal's visual direction — keeping motion decisions tethered to a brand that already had strong foundations.
Motion as explanation
Each vignette was storyboarded around a specific platform idea. Animation wasn't decoration — it was the explanation. If it didn't clarify the concept, it didn't make the cut.
What this delivered
Complex made clear
Sitecore migration architecture — a genuinely difficult concept — became something audiences could follow and remember.
Presenter support
Expert presenters got visuals that moved in sync with their narrative — no disconnects between what was said and what was shown.
Reusable assets
Templates and component systems built to extend beyond this project — a motion foundation Horizontal can build on.
